I am humbled and honored to have been awarded The Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce’s Civic Pride Award!! This award means so much to me because it comes from my community, for whom I do the work. Since co-founding Heathmere in 2018, it has been my aim to partner with and support youth, leaders and communities on the North Shore. I want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to all of you who make Heathmere’s (and thus my) work possible! We could not do this without you–our many donors, partners, volunteers and youth!
Here’s what the nominator wrote:
Lauren has done an exceptional job as the Founding Executive Director at Heathmere Center for Cultural Engagement. She is highly educated with a PhD in Philosophy, a MCS in Theology, and a BA in Political Communication. With this diverse background, she has done a perfect job leading Heathmere and forwarding their mission. Using the power of dialogue to foster connection, build trust, and cultivate understanding across differences in local communities. Heathmere has offered dialogues with and between youth, seniors, the community, race, the police, students, and many other organizations in a variety of formats over the years. I feel Heathmere’s work does not get enough credit. In 2026 their programming will shift to focus where these conversations are most needed, youth programming and trainings, demonstrated best by their existing program “Beverly Dialogue Youth Corps (BDYC). In times like now, the work Lauren does and advocates for is more important than ever and that’s why I’m nominating Lauren Barthold!
I’d love you to come celebrate with me on Tuesday March 3, 5-8pm at Danversport, tickets are available here.
