Deaf Culture: Awareness & Celebration--A TED-style presentation with Rachel Kolb

Deaf talent, acting, CODAs, representation… recent films and awards have brought national attention to Deafness and centered it in our cultural dialogue. Let’s gather *in-person* to have a conversation about "Deaf Representation and Deaf-Led Storytelling.” What would it mean to have more Deaf folks involved in storytelling and filmmaking, not just in terms of acting but also all the other parts of writing and production? After viewing a short captioned film to spark our thoughts, Dr. Rachel Kolb will lead us in a TED-style presentation. Discussion and light refreshments to follow. This event will be held at Beverly School for the Deaf, gymnasium and is free and open to all! ASL interpretation provided. Questions? info@heathmere.org
